Wat Benchamabophit is a Buddhist temple in the Dusit area of Bangkok just north of the old central part of the city and is often referred to as the “Marble Temple”. The temple is relatively new with construction starting in 1899. The main redeeming features of the temple are the external cladding of Carrera marble imported from Italy, its sweeping multi tiered roof and its cloisters at the rear which house 52 buddha statues around the marbled floor cloister yard.
