Pak Klong Talad is Bangkok’s biggest center for fresh flower commerce, if you are in the area then it is worth taking a walk along some of the streets and lanes as it is a sure feast for the senses. A whole myriad of flower varieties are on sale here all at great prices, this is where wholesale flower trades are made as well as idividual purchases for special occasions. Most stalls set up along the pavements but many shophouses here specialise in the flower trade too. Mixed in with the flower stalls you will find quite a few fruit stands selling range of locally produced as well as imported fruit. As well as flowers by the bunch flowers are also made in to a variety of garlands on many of the stalls here you can watch the flowers being threaded and made into garlands of all shapes and sizes

The area is bustling during the day with plenty of flowers on display and plenty of trade happening but if you really want to see this area come alive then night is the time to visit! The market is open all night and is at it’s busiest after midnight and in the pre dawn hours of 3:00-4:00am! This is when the majority iof the trades take place.
Getting to Pak Klong Talad
If you do not want to tackle the complex public bus routes then best jump in a taxi or tuk tuk. Traffic in this area can get very congested so you might want to consider arriving by the Chao Phraya Express boat service. If you are arriving by Chao Phraya Express Boat then you will want to get off at the stop Saphan Phut pier this is only a 4-5 minute walk from the flower market.
Note: When i visited in December 2015 the Saphan Phut Pier was closed, it looked like it was closed for maintenance works. I am assuming this pier should be open again soon.
You may also want to consider a visit to the flower market after a visit to Wat Po (or the Grand Place) as it is within a reasonable short walk . On my last visit here i walked from Wat Po which took around around 10 minutes (count on 15-20 minutes if you are walking from the Grand palace.
